OUR MINISTRIES

ADULT FAITH FORMATION

Fr. Dan Issing, C.S.C., Chairperson of the Theology Department at King's College will lead a special evening of prayer and will present an information session on Vatican II.  The presentation is to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the opening session of the Second Vatican Council.

Pope St. John XXIII opened the Second Vatican Council on October 11, 1962.  He sought a "New Pentecost," a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  He sought reconciliation for the world's divided Christianity and invited Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant observers to attend the sessions. Pope St. John XXIII died in June 1963, but the council continued under his successor Pope St. Paul VI, until 1965.

We invite you to join us on October 11, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.  Fr. Issing's presentation will be held in Conlan Hall.

Immediately after the presentation, light refreshments will be served that allows us an opportunity for fellowship.

St. Ignatius is excited to announce that we have purchased a parish subscription to FORMED, now available to all parishioners!  As we begin a new liturgical year, this online resource can help all parishioners to deepen their knowledge and enthusiasm about the faith.  FORMED is an on-demand digital resource with movies, videos, Bible studies, audiobooks, talks, and more!  There are resources for adults, children, teens, and young adults covering just about any Catholic topic.  I like to call it, "Catholic Netflix."

Why not try it out?  There's so much to enjoy! Registering is very easy.  Just go to signup.formed.org and type in our 18704 Zip-Code or search "St. Ignatius Loyola" and click on the Kingston, PA location.  Give a name and an email and you're registered!

Our ECHO apprentice, Deirdre, will be happy to answer any questions you have about how to sign-up for FORMED and the many treasures you can find on there.

ALTAR LINEN MINISTRY

Do you enjoy ironing? Are you a person who strives to perform a task to the very best of your ability? Do you have some time to devote to a very beautiful ministry in our parish?

Our Altar Linen Ministry is in need of several new members. If you are interested in joining us - or even just have questions about the ministry, please call Susan Verdone at 570-288-5376 and leave your name, phone number and a brief message. Your call does not constitute a commitment!

Basically, we have a printed schedule that covers about 2 months at a time, containing the names, phone numbers and dates of each person's responsibility for: picking up soiled linens from the Church Sacristy, laundering, ironing and returning them to the Sacristy - in a timely fashion, so that the drawers are always neat, orderly and well-stocked. How often a person's "turn" occurs depends on how many members we have; e.g. if we have 8 members, each would have a turn every 8 weeks. It is not difficult, but it is a very important ministry and dependability is a must. That said, situations do arise where someone is unable to fulfill their scheduled week and then we call each other to arrange a "switch." Training will be provided for new members.

Please prayerfully consider joining us!
